Sarah Foglesong, Executive Director

Sarah is a passionate educator and advocate for early childhood education and environmental education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Education and a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Prescott College. She joined EVCCA in January 2022, and previously worked in the San Jacinto mountains of southern California where she helped students, campers, and visitors connect with nature and each other. Sarah loves providing educators with the training, tools, and support they need to bring nature-based learning into their classrooms as well as in finding ways to bring environmental education to young children and their families in diverse settings and circumstances.

Liza Lopez, Miller Ranch Child Care Center Site Director

Liza is a Colorado native and has lived in the Vail Valley for 16 years. She has worked at Miller Ranch since 2008. Starting as an Infant teacher transitioning into a lead preschool teacher and now Site Director. Liza has worked Early Childhood field since 2004. She has an Associate of Applied Science with a major in Early Childhood Education in 2007 and earned a  Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University in April 2018.  She is also currently pursuing her Master of Education in Early Childhood Education. Liza is married and has four wonderful children who have all attended MRCC!

Taylor Hall, Vail Child Care Center Site Director

Taylor Hall has been in Early Childhood Education for about four years. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and moved to Colorado in 2020. She initially worked as a preschool teacher at Vail Child Care Center before transitioning to the infant room. In July 2023, she became the Assistant Director at Vail Child Care Center and has continued her education at Colorado Mountain College, taking classes in Early Childhood and Administration. She is excited about the future of the field.

Her favorite quote in early childhood education is: “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn” – Ignacio Estrada.

Brandie Armijo, EVCCA Office Manager

For the past nine years, Brandie Armijo has lived in the Vail Valley, dedicating her time and effort to her education and her passion for working with children. The most important things to her are family and children. Through her experience, she enjoys being hands-on in the classroom with both teachers and children, sharing her knowledge while also learning from the staff. Taylor believes strongly in the importance of teamwork.
